Heather’s News

Hello all,

I know it’s been awhile! What’s new here? Well, it’s sort of Spring and I’m glad since the end of winter found me a bit depressed. I am waiting to get on the road on my electric bike (bionx) that I only got at the very end of last season. Hopefully, I can make the 20km trek to work sometimes.

I am excited about the yearly trip to Vancouver and also a workshop I discovered that takes place in Toronto and is on writing for children. The people teaching it are really amazing. Definitely people I want to meet, so I’m going to send them my sample and see if I get in.

The cabane a sucre last weekend was nice – a small place instead of the usual huge commercial-type thing. Morgane liked it a lot, especially seeing the family. She said she wanted the ‘la-ban-a-sucre’ in her plate.

This Wednesday my Mom and Glen are coming to Montreal. We’re excited to see them and spend time in Montreal with them and to show them the changes in our house. For Glen, it’s his first visit at our new house.

I’m teaching the highest level of English this term at school and I find reading what they write not so bad. They’re pretty good writers. It’s a change from the beginning levels. Nevertheless, after my first full year working full-time there, I am looking forward to summer!

That’s all. Ghis has already started gardening – at least the parts not still covered by snow. With a start like that, maybe we’ll make some real progress in our yard this year or at least have fun trying. We’ll enjoy the brief season after mud and before bugs and before it gets too hot to go out.

Take care.
Heather
