Ian impresses us with his unicycle talents.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We arrived in Bridgewater Friday night to visit our new friends, Ian and Zelda, and we’ve been busy ever since. The first night Morgane went with their daughter to the YMCA while we ate at the local pub. Saturday Morgane went to Aliya’s piano lesson in the morning while I walked around town and savoured (literally!) the market. We bought some very zesty mixed lettuce and I found a sweet felted hat and legwarmers for Morgane.<\/p>\n

We had lunch at the local cafe which serves great Mexican and then we drove along the water (the scenic route) to Lunenberg.<\/p>\n

Lunenberg is a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s also where they film a lot of movies including Moby Dick at the current time. We drove around a corner and saw the town for the first time. We stopped by the golf course and I took tons of photos.<\/p>\n

We walked around town and the two girls and I had a horse-carriage tour. The town is full of heritage building beautifully kept up, going back as far as the 1700s. The buildings are brightly painted, apparently so the fishermen could find their way home.<\/p>\n

We tried to find a place to eat dinner, but everything was busy. We drove through Mahone Bay to see the scarecrow festival and, since it was even more busy there, we drove back home to eat.<\/p>\n

We’ve spent lots of time chatting and meeting their friends and neighbours. Today was rainy and more low-key. We took the girls plus one more to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs which made me laugh a lot. Now Ian is cooking ribs and Zelda is making something apple-y for dessert. Yum! The two girls are in the bath making a lot of noise.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow they go back to work and Ghis has an appointment to get this battery problem with the van figured out. Morgane and I will probably do her schoolwork at the local library.<\/p>\n
