We arrived at our friends’ house in Falls Church, Virginia, on Saturday night. The last time we saw them was when they were living in Montreal. From here it’s only a short drive and subway ride to Washington DC.<\/p>\n
Yesterday we took it easy, but today we are going to go. I am really excited! There is an amazing zoo and also The Smithsonian. I know we can’t see everything, so we’ll pick our favourites. The best news is that all the national museums in DC are free.<\/p>\n
It’s a place that I never thought much about visiting, so I’m surprised at how excited I am.<\/p>\n
Carmanah is getting along with their dog – 12-year old Negrita. Carmanah surprised us yesterday by killing a bird in the backyard. We were surprised, then sad.<\/p>\n
We went shopping at the famous Trader Joe’s and got lots of organic food items we hadn’t tried before. The good weather starts today. It’s still cold this morning, but it’s sunny and it’s supposed to warm up. Hurray!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
