Morgane and I had a memorable time at the zoo tonight. We got lots of treats and even saw some of the animals getting treats!<\/p>\n

Morgane made her own tiger mask the other day and that’s what she wore. We also found an orange t-shirt and some felt and together we came up with this costume.<\/p>\n

Hmmm. Maybe I'll go as a kid for Halloween.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

When we went to see the gorillas, I peeked into the corner, looking for the mother. She came out, passing right in front of our noses and she had her little baby on her chest. She sat down and promptly ate the paper bag that I assume contained her Halloween treat. I’m assuming that the bag wasn’t the treat, but what do I know?<\/p>\n

An orang-utan opened up a scarecrow’s pumpkin head and pulled out all the hay. Another one discovered a shiny blue cape and ran off with it.<\/p>\n

We also saw the lions and the tigers outside in their pens. The tiger got a treat consisting of a pumpkin with something yummy inside. After eating the treat, he spent a little time shredding the pumpkin before deciding it wasn’t worth eating.<\/p>\n

We got treats ranging from chocolate to apples to yoghurt to gelato. We also saw lots of funny and spooky Halloween decorations and had chances to talk with volunteers and learn what different kinds of animals eat. They even had dinner out for the snakes. A lot of the animals get a dead rabbit for dinner – sorry, rabbit lovers.<\/p>\n

Morgane’ favourite thing was walking through a tiger’s insides. First we passed inside his large, inflatable mouth. Then we were in a tunnel and could see his heart, then his lungs and ribs. Then we went into his stomach and hanging from the ceiling were all the things he had eaten. From there, we followed the maze of his intestines and heard a lot of farting noised before we were finally farted out the back end of the tiger. Of course we had to do it twice!<\/p>\n
