Hello family and friends.
The weather was cold for so long, but now it’s hot. Tonight is windy as if there’s a storm coming. Luckily, our house is keeping us pretty cool. I am finishing up at school and getting ready to go on vacation. Morgane and I will visit Vancouver from June 25 to July 10. It’s part of her education to know about beaches and mountains and rainforests and grandmothers and grandfathers and friends, Caper’s chocolate cake, etc.

We’re eating well these days and we’d both like to drop a few pounds instead of gaining more. We saw a dietitian for the first time and she taught us a lot. No eating after 7pm now and we’re limiting our sugar (carbohydrate intake) a bit. But once a week, I can have a BIG DESSERT!

Morgane is very fluent is French and English now. It’s hard to say what her preference is. Even when playing, she uses both at different times. Tomorrow night, she’ll get to see her uncle Barry who is in town for some training since his company was recently bought by a Quebec company.

What Morgane likes to do these days is organize picnics and lay out dishes for everyone and prepare the food. She also loves to bounce on our neighbour’s trampoline. She has gotten the hang of watering the plants. She just passed her dolphin level of swimming so can go in September without Mommy or Daddy!

She loves rice crispies and strawberries and popsicles. She often gives me pretend pieces of cupcake, chocolate and ice cream to eat. She loves going to the park and likes riding in her trailer behind Ghis’s bike. She loves shoes and we usually find that when we open the door to her room after putting her to bed or in the morning, she is sitting there wearing a pair of rubber boots or party shoes.

Ghis is heading off to Chicoutimi and Quebec City this week. He is glad to be on the road a little since it’s been a long time. He took a week off planning a bike trip which was cut short due to horrible weather. It was nice to have him around for awhile and we decided that if I ever make a LOT of money, we’ll keep him at home.

I don’t remember if I mentioned that I was accepted into the Master’s program at Vermont College in the Writing for Children and Young Adults Program. They can’t let me in yet, though, because they can’t give out VISAs right now. They are hoping this will change soon.
