It’s a nice quiet Sunday. We have not had enough of these. The snow is falling thicker and heavier by the minute. Looking outside, it’s hard to believe that winter won’t last forever, but I know the seasons change so quickly in Montreal. Yesterday we cross-country skied with the dogs and Morgane. Our Husky family sure gets a lot of stares. We even got our picture taken for the park brochure.

Morgane will be 6 months old tomorrow. She just woke up and is all sleepy in my arms. She is doing so many things all of a sudden: sitting up, pushing herself up when on her tummy, eating her toes while sitting in her chair, and eating cereal (and making a big mess). No more colds finally. I almost forgot another first for this week. Last Wednesday, Morgane came swimming with us! We spent about half an hour and she never cried and seemed to enjoy it – especially the rubber ducks we got to play with. We’ll defintely go back as the pool is great, warm and there are hardly any people there.

This week, I have been doing a bit or work for school and reading the (almost) final proofs for the textbook: Blueprints which will be published soon and available for this Fall. Luckily, Morgane is now taking a two-hour nap every morning. This is a nice age!

Ghis is still happy at work and before long, he will be heading out of the city to visit such places as Quebec City and Chicoutimi. Morgane and I, on the other hand, are planning a trip to Vancouver in May.

Anyway, Morgane is a very busy girl, so I am going to go. I hope everyone is doing well.

Bonne semaine.

Just a quick note before I go to bed. Morgane and I have the house to ourselves tonight. Unfortunately, I have a cold (first one for a long time), so I am not with Ghis and Hervé and Nicolas and Etienne who dogsledded up to the chalet in St. Alphonse. 6 dogs apparently made for quite a good ride. Etienne experienced his first face plant!

Ghis signed his contract at work today, so all is set for him to begin next Monday. I am looking forward to him being home at 5:15 instead of 7pm at night.

Morgane is very, very cute. She especially loves parties with lots of people. She likes talking to other babies, too, although not many talk back. She can sit up on her own for a little bit now without falling over. Despite her parents’ preferences, she looks great in pink. She is very strong and loves bouncing from one foot to the other. Now she has finally gone to bed, so despite my sore throat, I should follow too.

Goodnight everyone!

Happy 5 months Morgane!!!

I am leaving to go get our friends from France at the Airport. Hervé et Nicolas will spend the next 2 weeks with us and we are planning on giving them a big time…

Morgane is doing well, at the moment in her bed with sunshine cuddling her…

I am taking a week off to spend with our friends and I am starting the supervisor job on Monday Feb 10th. Moving along…

I am sad to hear that people are caught in avalanches. Isn’t it enough that we are not having great winters. Be careful. All of you.

Although unfortunate, the space disaster is putting a veil over the events in the middle east. The optimist in me hopes that they will release the pression off the war gas-pedal and realise that there is more to unite us than religious, political, belequious reasons. Unfortunatly, I also have this pessimistic-realistic side of my brain…

Love each other…

We had a great weekend up north with friends and skied with Morgane in the sled for the first time. The dogs enjoyed a bit of dogsledding although the next morning Woo turned around twice and headed back to the cabin where he had to be coaxed out of the doghouse and back onto the trail.

For those of you who couldn’t decipher Ghis’s last message, he got his job and he starts next week except that he is taking the week off because his friends from France will be here. So, he will start the week after. Today I visited him at the store (his last week) and finally bought some pants that fit!

Morgane is charming everyone with her calm, yet very sociable personality. She is very good at grabbing things and stuffing them in her mouth. She pulls them towards her eyes and drags them down past her nose to get them in her mouth. It’s very funny and cute. She is good at standing and bouncing from leg to leg. She is getting closer to sitting on her own. She makes all kinds of sounds, especially when she sees other babies.

I am finding a little time to work on the textbook, Blueprints, which will be published this spring I think. I am starting to appreciate how much work goes into a book and all the people and time involved.

The dogs have the whitest teeth on the block after having them cleaned at the vet’s in Drummondville. They look great and nobody, least of us, can believe they are almost 7 and 9 years old.

That’s all for now. I am off to yoga tonight and mother goose tomorrow.

Bonjour!

Ghislain
