Oops. Salut Morgane. Bye-bye!

Heather

Hello all,

A quiet day at home today. Morgane and I have been out a lot this week, so today we are taking it easy. She is sleeping a lot although I don’t know if it’s because she needs it or because she’s bored. Lately she has started to make real sounds like ba ba ba. She also rolled over last week and kept doing it for 24 hours and then promptly forgot how. We’ve started looking at library books lately and her favourite part of every book is the little sticker that says ‘bibliotheque – ville de montreal.’ She really likes feeling different textures of things and today she showed signs of wanting to bang her toys. Yesterday we swam again and she wore her brand new (thanks to Amelie) bathing suit! She is too cute in it.

Parenting involves so many questions that I never seem to know the right answers to. Should I wake her up or let her sleep. Will it mean that she won’t go to bed tonight at her new improved bedtime of 7:30? I am just getting used to the routine of giving her breakfast and dinner. It means a lot of time each day spent feeding and nursing her.

It’s raining and I’m glad because the snow is disappearing and spring is coming, so the faster the better. Wash away all the dirt and slush.

Ghislain is beginning two very busy months. He will be going to Chicoutimi twice and us girls haven’t decided yet if we’re going too. I’ve been making lots of new friends in the area at some local drop-in’s for mothers that I go to. The book, Blueprints, that I’ve been working on for the last year was published on Tuesday. I wonder when I’ll get to see a copy? I still have some work to do on the teacher’s manual and a workshop to present in June. If I’ve learned anything about books, it’s that a whole lot of work goes into them and that work is never done.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the cabane a sucre on Sunday. The rest of you, think of me – I’ll be licking up the maple syrup!

Love,

Heather and Morgane

Hello Friday morning. It’s only 10am and we’ve already done almost everything there is to do in the house including Morgane’s morning nap. That’s ok. Aunt Mimi is coming to visit! Morgane is playing in her giant tupperware bin. Lately, she has become quite independent in that she exerts her will by telling me exactly what she wants and doesn’t want to do. She just yawned, so maybe she’s still tired.

All right. Now she’s in her comfy chair beside me so she can tell me what to write in the journal. Her favourite words to hear these days are ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ and ‘zoom zoom.’ Yesterday we went to a place for mothers and she played in an inflatable pool filled with balls. She is captivated by other children and is probably studying them to see what mischief she can concoct in the near future when she becomes mobile.

She seems very content in her car seat wrapped up in her sunflower blanket and pacifier stuck in her mouth like Maggie Simpson. She loves eating her cereal now and I can barely shovel it in fast enough. She is growing up so quickly now.

Morgane and my trip to Vancouver is being planned for May 3 to 12th. I can’t wait to visit with Jennifer’s girls and see my other friends and family and take Morgane all the places where I used to play when I was little. I also will show her the ocean and the beach, the forests and the mountains. Grandma is already planning where to fit the crib.

Sweet girl, she slept through the night last night. We are still swimming every Wednesday night and loving it.

As for me, I’ve given up trying to work during the day. My priority is just to get out of the house and do things. Soon we’ll be dealing with rain more often than snow, but I’m looking forward to warmer weather so that the stroller will roll easier and Morgane can enjoy being less bundled up and seeing more of the world.

That’s all for now. Take care of yourselves.

Love,

Heather

Youpi!

We went to the pool again last night. Still, she loved it. I did all I could (eg: dipping her under water repeatedly) and she kept laughing and lovin’it. We’ll probaby have to take classes with her. Yeah!

Love the child.

At the request of a lot of you, I have reverted to the old web page concept. I have incorporated the Blog-Journal and added some pictures.

Enjoy!
