All day Ghis has been trying to fix our Westfalia, mostly with the help of a kind and knowledgeable neighbour.
The final consensus now that the sun is going down is that the battery was initially the problem, but when it was replaced, it was installed incorrectly and that fried some parts of the van’s electronics. They fixed some of this, but we need an appointment at the RV place.
Our appointment is on the 14th which means we’ll be in Nova Scotia for awhile. I don’t mind too much, but am craving a place of our own! We still have trouble sleeping the three of us comfortably in the van. It’s cold and often rainy. AND the battery problem makes everything unreliable (furnace, fridge…).
But the good news is we might still be around for the pumpkin regatta. Hurray!
I imagine you have a Winnebago conversion, not a Westfalia. Westfalia conversions are weekenders, and don’t have the camper amenities like a furnace.
You’re right. It’s a Eurovan, not a Westfalia. And we appreciate the furnace a lot!
