Pumpkin Day!

Goodbye for now to our dear Wolfville friends. May we meet again.

Finally – the day of the pumpkin regatta. Sunshine. Crisp fall weather. We began the day with a gourd hunt. Morgane and the other kids had to find as many gourds as they could and the child who found the golden gourd got a special prize. Everyone got to take their gourds home, too.

Then we watched the pumpkin parade and got a preview of the competitors’ PVCs (personal vegetation crafts).

The regatta itself was fun. First there was a motorized category, but there were only three of them. The paddlers were more fun to watch and there were 53.

They left from the far side of the lake and it was hard waiting until they got close enough to take a picture.
