We’re in Kitty Hawk sleeping at the Wal Mart. Still with our Swiss friends. They have offered to make fondue tomorrow night if only we can find some good cheese! This is the start of the tour along the barrier islands of North Carolina. There are a couple of ferries we’ll take as we hop from one island to another.

Today we crossed the long bridge-tunnel-bridge-tunnel-bridge across Chesapeake Bay to Virginia Beach.

I spotted a few palm trees! It definitely feels more southern here although it’s not hot.

Another lighthouse visit near Virginia Beach. It was on an army base, so we had to get our vehicle searched before we could drive in. That was the most exciting part.
