
Saturday was Ghis’ birthday and, to celebrate, we found some great Thai food, a little stand that was open down by the wharf. Turned out it was their very last night, too. Curry and hot and sour soup was a tasty treat.
We didn’t have any dessert (as Morgane pointed out) so at 8pm I went for a little walk through town. I found one pub that sold me cloud pie – made with lime zest, so I was hoping it was like key lime pie. It wasn’t, but then the only other option was a deep-fried Mars bar. For backup, I bought a bag of Halloween chocolate bars at a small drugstore.

Ghis doesn’t like too much fuss and there really wasn’t much except phone calls from his adoring family and friends.
